He has completed his fellowship (AFIH) in industrial health that deals with emergencies and safety in the industry such as chemical, fertilizer & biomedical waste exposure. Dr. Durga has attended a training program on medical management and preparedness for radiological and nuclear emergencies.

Education

Dr. Durga Vara Prasad completed his MBBS in 2011, Hebei Medical University, China. He received his fellowship in Associate Fellow in Industrial Health (AFIH) from Regional Labour Institute in 2016. Dr. Durga Vara Prasad completed his post-graduation in Masters in Emergency Medicine from Aster MIMS, Kozhikode in 2019.

Work Experience

Dr. Durga Prasad started as Duty Medical Officer in the Emergency Department at Pujitha Hospital. He was dealing with minor to major emergencies like trauma, medical, surgical & paediatric emergencies. He joined Coromandel Health Center in September 2014, as a Duty Medical Officer.  He was dealing with chemical injuries, fertilizer exposure, food poisoning and he was also conducting mock drills on safety and biomedical waste exposure. 

Dr. Durga Vara Prasad joined Aster MIMS, Kozhikode in July 2016 as a Registrar. He pursued his 3 years residency program in the Emergency Medicine Department, diagnosing about 30000 annually. He was working alongside the Paediatrics care, critical care, cardiology, orthopaedics, gynaecology ENT & Ophthalmology.

Dr. Durga Prasad is extensively trained in resuscitation. Trained in all life-saving procedures, ultrasound etc. He was managing acute care for sick patients who require constant monitoring.
